TPI Golf

“There are an infinite number of ways to swing a golf club. However, there is one most-efficient way for each player to swing a club and it is based on what they can physically do.”

What is TPI?

TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) is the world’s leading educational organization dedicated to the study of how the human body functions in relation to the golf swing. This relationship is what TPI calls The Body-Swing Connection. Optimizing the way the body moves can allow the player to swing in the most efficient way possible, shoot lower scores, and prevent injuries on the course. 25 of the top 30 players in the world are advised by a TPI Certified coach, fitness, or medical professional. You invest time and money into your equipment, why not invest in the most important piece- you!

What is a TPI Physical Screen?

The TPI Certified professional takes a player through 16 different movements to evaluate the player’s physical capabilities. These results are then correlated with the player’s swing characteristics to determine if deficiencies could be related to what their body can or cannot do. Being limited with motion, lacking strength, body control, or having poor swing mechanics can all decrease efficiency of the golf swing and put the player at risk for potential injury. Current health, injury history, physical fitness, and movement quality will also be taken into account to create a unique plan for the individual golfer. This plan will take a whole-body approach and may include physical therapy, fitness training, and/or mental performance coaching, which are all services offered at U-District. We value using a team approach and can work together with your golf professional to help you achieve the most efficient swing to play your best!

Will insurance cover the assessment?

If you have a specific injury or are having pain while playing golf, your private health insurance may cover all or part of the assessment. You will need to schedule a medical evaluation with our TPI Medical Professional to determine if this is medically necessary. We offer cash pay rates for those who are uninjured and interested in a TPI screen and exercise programming. Please email kaitlyn@udistrictpt.com or call 509-458-7686 with questions.
